The sun is out and so are buyers

In recent weeks I have sensed a definite improvement in the market, bored by indecision and Brexit and buoyed by great weather, buyers are showing a keenness that has been lacking in recent times. The best original and restored examples are selling to the seasoned and knowledgeable collectors suggesting they see today’s market as a good buying opportunity. The follow on from this and missed opportunities gives the new money in the market a confidence that suggest to me some likely price increases for the best examples of particularly the more modern classics.

Thanks to modern media, buyers can “fast track” their knowledge base on a potential classic purchase hence the market emphasis on quality and purity. Mediocre and just okay cars struggle to find a home at any price as emphasised in recent auction results. Never has there been such a wide gulf between the merely okay and the great.
