1980 Porsche 911 Turbo
This fantastic RHD UK supplied Turbo has covered just 16,000 miles in the hands of four owners from new. It is in virtually unmarked original condition throughout with great detail.
The Turbo was ordered when new from Glen Henderson, the official Porsche dealer for Edinburgh, also with a branch in Ayr which is where this car was supplied from. The original owner, Ernie Page, showed great taste in his chosen specification, the special-order Venetian Blue metallic with black leather and blue check Pasha trim remain stylish some forty years later! In addition, he specified sports seats, air conditioning and an electric sunroof as noted in the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on file.
Ernie Page collected his new Porsche on the 1st August 1980 as noted in the original service book and it remained in his private collection in Edinburgh until June 2010. During this time it covered just 13,800 dry summer miles and was maintained by the supplying dealer along with Scottish official Porsche dealers Douglas Cameron in Perth, Glenvarigill in Glasgow, later the Porsche Centre Glasgow. Over these 13,800 miles twelve services were completed, the last just prior to sale.
A letter on file from the first owner to the second, a fellow Scot confirms that Mr Page was sole owner and driver and confirms the mileage. This second owner continued to look after the Turbo carefully and again used it sparingly, the mileage rising to just 15,724 miles in May 2013 when he sold it to the third owner.
The third owner based in Wales again used the car little. In July 2017 at 16,088 miles the Turbo was despatched to the Porsche Centre Cardiff for inspection and maintenance. This is stamped in the service book and detailed in an invoice on file amounting to £5,548.
The last owner, a noted UK collector with a significant private collection purchased the Turbo in May 2018 at 16,092 miles. Since then it has been lightly used on dry days and stored at other times in perfect conditions. It is only being sold now to make room for new purchases.
This really is a reference example, it is virtually as new in all respects, one hates to use the overblown ‘time warp’ but I’m not sure that I can help myself! It comes with the abovementioned history file, all books, tools and keys.
