1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello
A fine UK supplied 550M finished in silver with a contrasting black leather interior. It remains in excellent original order throughout and has covered 40,000 miles in the hands of only two owners.
The Ferrari was supplied when new by Ferrari main dealer JCT600 to well-known car connoisseur, racer and collector, Mr Neil Corner, who has owned some of the finest cars in the world over many years. He retained the 550M in his collection until 2011, covering 28,000 miles in this time. As with all his cars the Ferrari was very well looked after and maintained both by the supplying dealer and by his own mechanic who has been responsible for his collection and racing activities for many years. The original stamped service book, invoices and a letter on file details work completed.
In 2011 the Ferrari was purchased by DK Engineering and was sold on quickly to another collector and historic race driver again with a fine eye for quality. During this second owner’s tenure only about one thousand more miles have been added and the car has continued to be well looked after and regularly maintained. Regular servicing has been completed by highly respected specialists Rardley, service stamps and invoicing on file detail the work completed. The last service completed in February 2020 included a full inspection and any area found wanting was addressed. The cam belts were replaced at the previous service in 2019.
This 550M was chosen to feature in the Summer 2018 edition of Enzo magazine, it appeared on the cover along with the other Ferrari GT Legends from Daytona to 812 Superfast. It performed well, leading to comments such as ‘The 550 feels so natural, so calm. Picking up the pace, it just gets better and better’. A copy of the magazine is on file.
All in all a great 550M that has the appearance, detail, condition and driving feel of a very low mileage example, proof of careful use and maintenance by two seasoned experienced owner/drivers. It comes with all original books in the correct leather wallet, tools, keys and the above-mentioned history file that also includes MOT certificates from the first to date.
