1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello
A super 550M in a great colour combination, Grigio Titanio with black leather and featuring the all-important Fiorano handling pack which greatly enhances driving feel and responsiveness. The car has covered only 12,500 miles from new in the hands of two owners and remains in virtually unmarked completely original condition throughout.
The 550 was ordered new from Maranello Sales by well-known Ferrari collector, Mr John Britten. The original invoice issued in July 1998 suggests the car was delivered at the end of September 1998, becoming part of Mr Britten’s collection at this point. Mr Britten retained the 550 until August 2009, during his ownership it was used sparingly with only 10,630 dry miles being covered. During his ownership the car was maintained by the supplying dealer and Ferrari specialists SMDG. It was carefully stored in his heated garaging.
In August 2009, a discerning English collector was made aware that this great 550 was available for sale and he purchased it immediately, following an extensive search for such an example. He has continued to use the car sparingly on fine days, the mileage rising to just 12,500 miles since his purchase. He has similarly kept the car with his collection in fine conditions and has used Ferrari dealer Meridien Modena for maintenance.?
The 550 remains in excellent original order in all respects and displays a freshness lacking in most examples It has clearly been very carefully driven and looked after by each owner. This is borne out on the road, the car remaining very taut with none of the 'bagginess' one finds in most harder used Maranellos. The 550 has just been fully serviced as per schedule by Ferrari Dealer Dick Lovett, work included a belt charge and MOT inspection, along with much detail work ensuring the car wants for nothing. It comes with all books, tools, keys and a history file of invoices, correspondence and previous and current MOT certificates.
