1972 Porsche 911 2.4S

This numbers matching left hand drive example is in outstanding condition throughout having been fully restored to the highest standards by marque specialists over a number of years.

This 2.4S was built in May 1972 and was supplied later that year to an Italian owner via the Porsche main dealer in Bologna. The car remained in Italy until 1999 at which point it was offered for sale by German Porsche specialist PS Autos. Later that year the car was imported into the UK and offered for sale by the highly respected Porsche specialist Edmond Harris.

In November 1999 the current owner purchased the car from Edmond Harris following an exhaustive search for a really good original example. Following purchase the car was taken to Porsche specialist Neil Bainbridge for a full inspection and report. As expected the car was found to be a very good original example as described in the report on file, praise included; "the chassis is in very good condition and has been looked after".

In 2003 following several summers use the decision was taken to begin a mechanical rebuild. This soon escalated into a full restoration, carried out with fastidious detail, every item being either renovated or replaced as necessary. Every aspect of the work completed was carefully photographed and extensive invoicing all well presented in files documents every detail of the work completed. Neil Bainbridge naturally carried out the mechanical rebuild, the as new appearance and superb well sorted driving experience can only be achieved by a company with very high standards and much experience in the Porsche field. The body was fully stripped and refinished by Shorade, an official Porsche Body Repairer, indeed the car comes with a lifetime guarantee of repair. Again extensive invoicing and photography documents every aspect of the work completed from strip down to completion, photographs show how good the body is in bare metal. The interior was refinished by well-known specialists Southbound, this really is a great interior and once again shows the value in using experienced marque specialists.

Following completion the car saw very little use, however it was been returned to Neil Bainbridge at BS Motorsport for regular servicing with visits in between when even the slightest issue arose!

We purchased the car in 2014 and it sold very quickly to a regular local customer with a notable private collection. As with the other cars in his collection the 911 has been extremely well looked after being stored in perfect conditions whilst being maintained as required by Porsche. It has seen very little use and has only even been driven in dry summer weather.

This super example is exactly the 2.4S one hopes to find but rarely does. It is to original specification and is in exceptional condition, this beauty is not just skin deep for the car drives superbly and is clearly very well sorted. It comes with the above mentioned extensive history files and original toolkit.
