Porsche 2010 911 Sport Classic
What a special car!!!
Produced by the Porsche Exclusive Department this new model pays homage to the classic 2.7 RS of the early seventies featuring the wonderful ducktail rear spoiler and a modern take on the Fuchs wheel which I think looks fabulous. Each time you look at this car you notice another exquisite detail, for example the subtle double bubble roofline and the dark brows on the headlights.
The interior feels very bespoke with illuminated stainless door sills and leather on almost every surface, including the air vents. Each of the cars is finished to the same spec, the only option being a short shift gearshift which this car features. Everything is standard including PCM with phone and navigation, Bose sound with iPod compatibility, electric heated seats and so on.
The dark espresso interior colourway is truly retro, especially in combination with the leather platted door and seat inserts and light Alcantara roof lining.
For me, this model combines the best aspects of current 911 models, featuring an upgraded S engine up 23bhp to 408bhp, sports suspension and 20mm lower ride height, limited slip diff and ceramic brakes. On the road the car immediately feels more positive than the standard car and you notice the extra power and torque as soon as you get to a decent A road. All in all, a fantastic compromise between the slightly hard edged (for our roads) GT3 and the very competent, but sometimes dull, standard S model.
Only 250 Sport Classics have been made of which only 32 were supplied to the UK market. This example, supplied by a UK dealer is brand new and has not been used, indeed it is showing only 45 miles.
