Porsche 1989 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster The Porsche Speedster available only for the 1989 model year is probably the most exciting 930 derivative and it is also rare, only 64 Turbo body examples were imported into the UK in that year.This car however is even rarer, it is one of only 9 narrow body right hand drive examples made. These cars have a more classic look and feel and drive better suffering much less from scuttle shake compared to the more numerous wide body examples. The narrow body Speedsters were very hard to get hold of and it helped to have a special relationship with the Porsche factory. This car was ordered new by no less than Porsche Works driver and Le Mans winner Vern Schuppan He took delivery of the car in October 1989 and retained it in his small private collection until the mid 1990’s. During his ownership the car was hardly ever used, indeed it had covered less than 1,000 miles when he sold it along with his 959 to well known dealer Bramley in Surrey. Following a service at AFN Porsche in Guildford they sold the car in 1996 to Mr Kilpatrick, a local customer who kept the car until last year. During his ownership the car was used carefully in summer months and was correctly maintained by Camtune. During his ownership the mileage increased to 30,000 miles. The third and last owner purchased the car last summer from us and has continued to use it carefully in dry weather - the mileage has risen by less than 1,000 miles. Since purchase the car has been checked over and serviced by Porsche dealer Dick Lovett. This incredibly rare Speedster is in superb original order throughout. It comes with a full history including original stamped service book and invoices. All tools and handbooks are present as is a very rare hardtop.
