Porsche 1996 993 RS

This is an excellent left hand drive example of this much revered model that is in excellent order with a full history from new.

The car was first supplied on the 10th December 1996 by the Porsche Centre in Hamburg to a Karl Heinz Gopfert. He ordered the car to a high specification to include black/grey leather hard back sports seats, red belts, air conditioning, Blaupunkt stereo and electric windows. The car remains to this exact specification today with no modifications other than for the fitment of a Momo steering wheel, so much nicer to handle than the rather unwieldy original (which does come with the car).

The original owner retained the car until 2002 and continued to use the supplying dealer for servicing. The car was serviced each year as per the factory requirements. The service book is correctly stamped and each service invoice is in the history file. Mr Gofert clearly enjoyed the car, covering 107,000 km in his six years of ownership.

In 2002 the car was purchased by Mr Robert Clarry from London after an exhaustive search for a completely original left drive black RS that had only been used on the road. He maintained as do many that the left drive cars drive better as this is how they were initially designed. During his ownership the car was again very well maintained. Following purchase the car was sent to Parr Motorsport for a full checkover and geometry setup. All maintenance work was then entrusted to Lancaster in Bow, an official Porsche dealer. They serviced the car each year and as all the invoices indicate any item requiring attention was correctly dealt with.

The third and final owner, also English, bought the car in 2004, at this point the mileage had increased to 126,000 km. During the last six years the car has continued to receive careful use and has been very well maintained with annual servicing by the Porsche Centre in Hatfield. Much additional work has been completed above the standard service schedule including by example all new dampers and spring platform adjusters.

The car has just returned from a full inspection and major service by Parr Motorsport. Every item requiring attention was dealt with including new front discs and pads, new clutch, engine main oil seal, all wheels were refurbished and a full geometry set up. The invoice fully details the work completed suffice to say it amounts to some £10,000.

This RS is in excellent order throughout and is beautifully set up, everything works as it should and it drives superbly in a tight and very precise manner. The car has now covered 148,000 km and it comes with a full service history including stamped original service book, invoices and all MOT certificates.
