1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Speedster

This is one of just 64 right hand drive Speedsters that was officially supplied to the UK market in 1989. This example was first registered on the 1st August 1989 and was supplied by Coopers, the official Porsche dealer in Exeter, Devon. The car was first registered to this dealer, but they sold the car on the 8th of August to a good customer, also based in Exeter, no doubt for a large premium. In those heady days of 1989, these cars were often being sold on for £150,000, a multiple of the original factory price.
This first private owner was clearly an enthusiast who enjoyed the car as he kept it until 1996.
In this period the car was used only in dry summer weather, this explaining the total mileage of only 6,500 miles when the car was sold in 1996. During this ownership the car was correctly serviced by the supplying dealer Coopers and once by Porsche dealer Dick Lovett in Bristol.
This next owner, a Mr Vaughan Hatton based in Brixham, Devon, kept the car for the next seven years only selling it in May 2003. Again, during this ownership the car was carefully used in dry weather indeed the mileage had only increased to 9,500 miles when it was sold in 2003. Mr Hatton clearly took a great interest in the model and looked after his car well as indicated by the great volume of invoices and correspondence in the history file.
The new owner, a Mr Bernie Woollaston based in Portsmouth, left nothing to chance with his purchase. Prior to buying the Speedster he insisted it was given a major service and the multi point Porsche check at Coopers, the original supplying dealer. The relevant invoices on file show that only a few minor items needed attention, nonetheless, any work required was completed.
Mr Woollaston kept the car only for a year before selling it to the last owner in July 2004. Since then the car has continued to be carefully looked after and used only in dry weather, it has still only covered 17,000 miles from new and remains in exceptional original condition throughout. A full check-over and service has just been completed by Dick Lovett, the Porsche dealer in Swindon.
The car comes with a comprehensive history file detailing ownership and servicing including present and past MOT certificates. In addition, all tools and books are present including the original service book and rare Speedster handbook supplement.
This is a very rare and exciting car that remains eminently usable due to the superb engineering standards of Porsche at this time.
